Both Jack and Mike were exceedingly professional and knowledgeable. They gave me advice on which repairs I should do first to keep my old Subaru running, plus estimates on both future repairs and... what they would have charged me for repairs I had done recently at my usual mechanic. They quotes me prices they were well below what I had paid, PLUS I would get an extra 15% off for being a Costco member. Will definitely be back!read more

Had my car towed in for flashing check engine light. After diagnosis they fixed the issues with a new ignition coil and plugs. I had just put new tires on our Toyota Highlander. I took it to Merrill for 4-wheel alignment. They did a test drive and called me to say I also needed a new front wheel bearing. They were concerned... that I might also need a new front axle. Call back to let me know I did not need a new axle. They completed the four-wheel alignment and installation of the new wheel bearing in one day. I am very happy with how the car drives and the speed in which they could complete all this.read more

So, I took my car in for a squealing belt. I was then told there was some kind of leak. WAS THEN told that I was going to get a new engine. None of this was Merill’s fault. At first I was frustrated... because of the stories you hear but was then told the new engine would be about 70k fewer miles than the one I had when i brought my car in. So that was sick.It took 3 weeks but that was the warranty company doing their warranty stuff. I know Mike is a bit of a star on the reviews, and for good reason; he answered all of my annoying questions the absolute best he could. But I would also like to mention the techs that fixed my beloved Rosevelt, there’s a guy named Jack that transferred me to Mike a few times, so he’s cool. A lady also answered the phone once, she’s cool in my book too. I’m sorry I don’t remember your name :/Anyway, it was a terribly annoying experience not having my car but I am glad it was with these guys.Merill Automative: 5 Stars!read more

Merrill Automotive is a place where you can put your total trust in their honesty.I took my Ford Ranger to have them look into an engine light that came on. the diagnosis was right on target. They... also fixed a leak on thefront deferential and replaced a joint that was giving me trouble steering. The work was done professionally, no more leak, and the front right side steering noise is gone, and of course the front alignment is perfect. Thank you, Merril Automotive and staff. called Jack gave info what incl w/oil change & costs * talked with Stephanie she got me some additional info * both were friendly & helpful, so made an appt * they did the work while I waited in... their clean, well appointed waiting area & offered me coffee, tea or water *was advised had a part that was leaking~ they did not talk about cost & fixing it. but, Ishould check with dealer as part should be covered in mfg warranty. & would check again on couple others filters that may need to be replaced at next couple oil changes. & all other fluids in the van were good ** took van in shortly after I arrived about hour later was on my way * was my first time using their services, liked all the staff I had interaction with, & Most Important--- their Honesty & Thoughtfulness ** Yes, I will use their service again & can openly. recommend them to others ** thanksread more

I went in for an oil change and just an overall general service on my Preowned 20111 Buick Regal. Mike was gentleman who worked on my car and had some unpleasant news to give me. Frankly I was lied... to by the previous owner. Mike was very upfront and honest. He could’ve taken advantage and done the work on my car then of course change me. It didn’t happen that way. He was so honest he told me it simply wasn’t worth it. It wasn’t worth putting any money into the car. Thank you Mike.read more

Nothing against the people, the front desk staff are always nice. And as far as I know, the work the mechanics do is good. But they charge 2-2.5x the typical fair rates for any given job. They... minimize or skip over important information when sharing would result in saving you money. I learned this by getting second, third and fourth opinions and quotes from other reputable shops as well as doing research online. I always recommend getting a second opinion in any auto-service circumstance. It's very clear to me when a shop is working in the customers best interest by sharing information clearly and openly. Especially to help you understand what exactly is going on with your car, what is necessary vs what you could do to be as efficient as possible with your money. Merrill is simply not that shop. But they do clean work in a timely manner, so if you don't mind being overcharged it's a fine place to go.read more

Incredible experience with these guys. Super helpful and knowledgeable about what I needed fixed. I always ask a ton of questions so that I can learn too and these guys were super patient with giving... me all the info! They also got my car in quickly with a super fast turn around time in one day. They were also super flexible with me calling back multiple times to request more work get done. This will definitely be my #1 go to shop as long as I’m in the area. Can’t recommend them more!read more

I had them take a look at my car due to a grinding noise I heard coming from the front of the car. They sent me an estimate, reasonable prices, so I had then fix what they said was causing the... noise. As I'm driving home I still hear the noise, super disappointed because the staff was friendly and helpful. I just wish they were more honest, instead of trying to pull a fast one. Clearly ignored the underlying problem in hopes I will return, to fix the real issue, I will be spending my money elsewhere. Only a 2 star instead of a 1 because Mike was super helpful. Thinking about it now I was worried about the front of the car and they only fixed rear end parts. I should've know they were up too something sneaky. I must note the parts were installed properly and quite fast, just the wrong parts.read more

The Good: They were able to identify the underlying issue with my recurrent alignment problems, and it appears to have been fixed. They also recommended further steps should this fix not hold. They... also have a key drop if you should need to drop off your car during non-business hours. The employees in the shop were friendly.The Not as Good: When I was called to discuss what they found, an upsell was attempted.I was told that my battery had died on them 4 times, and that they noticed corrosion. However, when I expressed this as being strange (considering I have a *not old* larger than required aftermarket battery in my car, and it has been running just fine) it was completely dropped as a subject, rather awkwardly. When I got my car back, it started straight up, and has since. I checked my battery as well, and did not identify any signs of corrosion.I'm not sure if as a young woman I look like an easy "target" or what, (NEWSFLASH: women *can* know about cars, especially their own) but trying to upsell is NOT a good business practice. Women are sick of having to take a "man" everywhere, just to not get this kind of treatment.Overall: Good place to go for alignments, considering they have one of the most sophisticated systems in the area- but make sure you know your car well before you go.read more

This was the 4th time I've been to Merrill. On my 1st visit they repacked wheel bearings and replaced the brakes on my 5th wheel. They kept me in the loop on what was going on. Someone had over... greased the wheels and the brakes were covered in grease. On my next visit they worked on my suspension and steering on a 2008 Fiesta motor home. The result was a much better ride and steering experience. On my last visit they repaired a broken frame member. I trust them expressly. The customer care is extremely outstanding. I highly recommend them and will continue to be a loyal customer. This last visit was for an oil change on the engine and generator. Service is excellent.read more

5 day trip around NM and the trailer was transformed. (11,500 lb 36’ bumper pull toy hauler) Boondocking so 100gal fresh tank and 30 gal fuel...10 links on the blue OX springs and trailering was... smooth and drama free, even with substantial wind. No buffeting when semi's passed either.read more

I am a TNC gig worker and drive many miles a day.The guys at Merrill have been very helpful over the past few years. I was originally referred to them by my extended car warranty company, and have... been using their services ever since. It was much easier and faster to make an appointment with them vrs the dealership who have months of waiting.They have taken care of multiple warranty replacement parts for me and worked direct with the warranty company on my behalf. I have replaced brakes (numerous times), bought 2 new sets of tires (including receiving credit for tires that didn’t last the miles they were supposed to), also regular oil change and service. Even repairing flat tires and providing on-site wheel alignment.Chuck and Mike have helped me out a lot, making sure that I get my vehicle back when promised. Paul their tech/mechanic has also personally helped me and discussed my vehicle issues to make sure I understand the best care for my vehicle.They a kind and friendly folk, and they also always have candy for when I’m waiting. 🤪Tell them that my review sent you there because they were sure it would. Also ask for extra candy!read more

I had a really weird issue with my tail light working sometimes and then completely off at other times. Took my Yukon to Merrill to diagnose. They did a great job, contacted my warranty and did all... of the paperwork for me. I picked it up a couple of hours later and haven't had any issues. Chuck and Mike up front are professional, personable and really nice guys to talk to. They are great at explaining what is wrong and what was done. Good work done quickly, I've had my car in here a few times. Lately I had my A/C serviced and when I brought it home, something still wasn't quite right. They were able to take another look and... make sure everything was fixed for what they quoted, no runaround or hassle. That shows a lot of integrity and is something you must appreciate about a business. Prices are slightly higher than smaller shops but the work is warrantied for a few years and the parts they use are high quality.read more
